Members of the Serbian and Romanian teams within the IPA project Environmental Risk Assessment from Mining Activities as a Result of Tailings Storage in the Cross-Border Area Romania–Serbia participated in the 56th International October Conference on Mining and Metallurgy, held from 22 to 25 October at Bor Lake.
The project was presented through the paper “Environmental Sampling Strategy for the Romania–Serbia Mining Region,” showcased during the poster session. The paper outlines the sampling strategy and the approach to environmental risk assessment in the cross-border mining region of Serbia and Romania, as well as preliminary project results achieved so far through joint cooperation.
This year’s conference gathered authors from 19 countries, with a total of 158 scientific papers, providing our team with an excellent opportunity to present project results to the broader international professional community — not only in Serbia and Romania but also at the global level.
